The Mayor’s Street Tree Programme

trees2Are there enough trees in your streets? The Mayor of London wants to make London a greener city and is funding an expansion of the Forestry Commission’s London Tree and Woodland Grant Scheme – the aim is to plant 250 street trees in 40 areas around the capital by the end of his 4 year term.

Broad Green is one of the 40 priority areas. It falls into the second round, for which the deadline was the 14th July. Further funding rounds will be announced later this year and in 2011.

Click here for full details of the scheme from the Forestry Commission website – or click here to download a map and list of eligible streets in Croydon.

We’ll keep you updated about where trees for Broad Green will be planted – and if you know more, please get in touch.
