Fusion – City House – the Philips building

Its best known name is the Philips Building, but more recently it’s being called Fusion, or City House.

A couple of years ago the building, at 420-430 London Road, was redeveloped (by Fairview) and now has many flats, plus commercial space at street level.

It also now has seven wind turbines on the roof.

On the street it makes its presence felt – if you walk along that stretch of London Road on a windy day (or even when it’s gently breezy) there’s a definite wind tunnel effect. Planners for the West Croydon Masterplan take note.
